UPCom Index closed in the red

The UPCoM-Index, the measure of 88 unlisted public companies, closed in the red as investors sold shares to cut risks, following the losses on the two official exchanges. The measure gave up 1.78 points, or 3.52%, to close at 48.8. The market volume fell to 335,930 shares worth VND5.45 billion.

The gauge started at a base benchmark of 100 points on June 24, 2009 but it has never been back to that level.

The market breadth was negative where 9 stocks closed higher, 29 ones ended lower, 3 stocks closed unmoved and 47 stocks finished without any trade.

DPP and TTR were ceiling gainers while ACE, GDW, ICI, NT2, TCO, TGP, TTG and VCT were floor losers. On this unofficial bourse, daily trading limit is 10% each side.

UDJ was the most active stock on a trade of 50,400 shares, which closed lower at VND17,500.

Foreign investors sold 900 shares of PSB worth VND9.63 which was closed lower at VND10,500
